Installation methods
There are two ways to install the StonePine Discord app. You can add it to a server for team notifications, or use it in direct messages for personal use:
Method 1: Direct installation link (Recommended)
Click the installation button below to add StonePine to your Discord server:
Add to DiscordYou'll be redirected to Discord's authorization page. You can either select a server where you want to install the app, or choose to use it in direct messages only. Click "Authorize" to proceed.
Server permissions required
You must have "Manage Server" permissions to add bots to a Discord server. If you don't see this option, ask a server administrator to install the app, or choose to use StonePine in direct messages instead - no server permissions needed!
Method 2: Discord App Directory
Open Discord and navigate to the Discover section in the left sidebar.
Click on "Apps" in the Discover menu.
Search for
StonePine in the
search bar.
Click "Add App" next to the StonePine listing.
Initial setup
After installing the app, you need to link your Discord account to your StonePine account and set up your preferences.
Step 1: Authentication
In any channel where the bot is present, or in a direct message with StonePine, type the following command:
/stonepine auth login
The bot will respond with a private message containing a login link. Click the link to authenticate with your StonePine account.
Don't have a StonePine account?
The authentication link will guide you through creating a new account if you don't have one already.
Step 2: Set notification channel
Navigate to the Discord channel where you want to receive notifications, or open a direct message with StonePine if you're using it for personal notifications.
In that channel or DM, run the channel setup command:
/stonepine channel
This tells StonePine to send all notifications to this specific location (channel or DM).
Step 3: Follow your first companies
Now you can start following companies for SEC filings and AI-powered insights. Here are some example commands:
Follow specific SEC forms
/stonepine follow companies:TSLA forms:8-K,10-Q
This follows Tesla for specific SEC form types (8-K current reports and 10-Q quarterly reports).

Event types explained
StonePine supports different types of events you can track:
- AI Summaries - Receive notifications for AI-powered summaries of SEC forms
- Forms - Get notifications only for specific form types you specify

- 10-Q - Quarterly financial reports
- 10-K - Annual comprehensive financial reports
- DEF 14A - Proxy statements for shareholder meetings

Troubleshooting
Bot not responding
If the StonePine bot doesn't respond to commands:
- If using in a server: Make sure you have administrator permissions in the server
- If using in a server: Verify the bot has been added to your server and appears in the member list
- Check that the bot has permission to send messages in the channel (servers) or that you can receive DMs (for direct message usage)
- Try using commands in a different channel, or switch to direct messages if having server issues
Not receiving notifications
If you're not getting notifications:
- Verify you have an active StonePine Plus subscription

Check that you've set the notification channel or DM
with
/stonepine channel -
Confirm you're following companies with
/stonepine following - For servers: Make sure the bot has permission to send messages in your notification channel. For DMs: Check that you haven't blocked the bot or disabled DMs from server members
